Ground Zero and Chinese district

Went to ground Zero to look at the new buildings, and did some shopping in stores in that area. Levi's is really cheap here.

Had lunch in the Chinese district. Those in the restaurant weren't that service minded, but the food was good.

Don't know what spectacle we then happened to pass by on our way to the Italian district.

Christmas in New York

I had always thought that Christmas in New York would mean lots and lots of Christmas decorations, crowded stores and hysterical people.

I was wrong. There's a lot more of Christmas decorations in Sweden, and trying to buy something in a store in Sweden just before Christmas is a nightmare.

The biggest drawback of Christmas in New York is that it's to warm, and I miss the snow that we have in Sweden.

Walking around on Manhattan

The morning started with rain and wind,  but it turned into great weather around noon.

Did some shopping since my luggage still hasn't arrived.  I love this city. It has so many things to offer.

Quiksilver and Levi's is still cheap. Super dry, a Japanese brand that used to be cheap here has gotten a bit expensive compared to prices in UK.

Delayed luggage

It's bound to happen one day. The luggage gets delayed. It's always a bummer when it happens, especially if it's late so all stores are closed.  My credit card pays about 300 usd if the luggage is delayed for more than 6h.
Had to buy some basic stuff at Duane Reade. Will buy some t-shirts and jeans tomorrow. Got to sleep now.

Trip to US

About to start a new trip.  This time to New York, Hawaii, Los Angeles and Las Vegas.

The weather in Sweden is currently rather cold. Could unfortunately not get a good shot of the terminal.

Vulcher show in Benalmadena

There's a great vulcher show in Benalmadena. Take the cable car to the top of the mountain in Arroyo de la miel/Benalmadena. It's close to Tivoli World.

The show is usually at 13:00 and 16:30 every day. They have owls, eagles, hawks and some other birds in the show.

Sevilla, Spain

Yau can drive or take a train from Costa del sol to Sevilla. It will take a couple of hours.

Remember that Sevilla is super hot during summer.

I visited Plaza de España and walked around in the city for a while. The city has a very nice cathedral, but it's hard to take photos of it since there are other buildings close to it.

Mijas

Mijas is a small village up in the mountains close to Fuengirola. It's very nice to visit for a few hours. You have a great view of Costa del sol frome there.

Some sites to visit

Went to the Picasso museum, but it's closed on Mondays, so we went to the place where he was born instead.

Ended the day with a short visit to Pimpi, a famous bar/restaurant where many well known people have been, like Antonio Banderas.

Sherry, Jerez

I'm now in Malaga. Is showing Ida the old town, and we have also visited the oldest pub to try some sherry, or jerez in Spanish.

The area around Malaga is well known for the Sherry.

Fire in Mijas/Coin/Marbella area

Haven't done much last week in Spain. It's so damn hot, and I had a cold.

A huge forest fire started yesterday, I hope that the will be able to control it soon. 30 aircrafts and 500 firefighters are working on it.

Sunday in Torremolinos

Most stores in Torremolinos are closed on Sundays, but cafes and restaurants are open.

I saw earlier today that some stores, like Zaras, have closed permanently.

The weather in late August is usually sunny, and temperatures are in the range of 28-35 Celsius.

Costa del sol, Spain

I'm off to Costa del sol, Spain. Will spend most of the time in Torremolinos, but will also make short daytrips to Malaga and Sevilla.

Don't know if I will blog or not. Torremolinos is like my 2nd home. I have been there every summer during the last 30 years or so, so it isn't so exotic to me.

The first day at the island

... was great. Very warm weather, so we went for a bath. The water was very chilly, but a few minutes of sun bathing solved that problem.

One funny thing. Bath is called "bad" in Swedish, so you should follow signs that says bad. Mixing Swedish and English is however not so good.

The next day started with rain. We've had lots of rain this summer. Had a good breakfast that we bought in a small grocery store.

At Gällnö Hostel

I had booked a small cottage/cabin for two. The hostel is very popular so you really need to book in advance.

The surrounding is very nice.
