The geisha district is also very small, and you might not see any geishas, but it's nicer to visit than the samurai district, so visit this district if you only have time to visit one district, and already have visited Kenrokuen garden.
There had just been a wedding in a temple next to the geisha district when we got there. Don't know if they always throw paper cranes at the wedding couple, but it looked cool with paper cranes on the grown. We usually throw rice at the wedding couples in Sweden.Just a random blog that I'll use when I'm out traveling. It might be stone dead in between :)

Nijo Castle
I have now visited Nijo Castle in Kyoto, it's very famous for the nightingale floors.
The "sing" when you walk on then.
Will spend the night in a Ryokan, a traditional Japanese Hotel.
Btw, Japanese tv wanted to shoot me while a was taking photos in a park surrounding the castle.
I liked the place very much, saw a geisha, and lots of ladies with kimonos.
The last image in this post shows what a subway ticket machine looks like.
