Private onsen at Shosenkaku Kagetsu

Just got back from the hot bath.

It was superb, but the onsen that was indoors was a bit too hot for my liking.

The one that was outside was great!

Time to relax a bit, and then try the sake drinks that the ryokan has.

Arrived at ryokan in Echigo-Yuzawa

We have arrived at Shosenkaku Kagetsu, the ryokan where we will spend the night.

It's located in Yuzawa, a small ski resort in the Japanese alp. It's however off season, which doesn't matter much to us since we are here for the hot baths.

The ryoakan has both public and private baths. Most baths in Japan are single sex nude baths, so booking a private bath might be your only option if you are a couple and want to bath together.
